On-Air
Personalities Kris
has spent over half her life in front of a microphone. She has enjoyed
a career spanning all formats. Highlights include being News Director
for many radio stations, Program Director for a non-commercial News/Classical
station, and even a short lived stint as a traffic reporter under the
moniker “U-Turn Laverne.” Kris enjoys shuttling her 4 children around,
playing golf, attending symphony concerts and practicing yoga. Her favorite
piece of music is the “Flower Duet,” by Leo Delibes and her favorite
symphony is Prokofiev’s 5th. Don
was born and raised in New England. His favorite place is the top of
Mt. Washington, “Home of the World’s Worst Weather.” Don’s favorite
selections from classical music are Tchaikovsky’s 1812 Overture, Rossini’s
William Tell Overture, and any symphony by Mozart, Beethoven or Brahms.
Between programs on the Classical Station I love to play golf, hike
and bike. Recently I’ve started to re-learn everything I forgot about
playing the piano and trombone. I’m also a big fan of Count Basie-style
swing music, Frank Sinatra and Tony Bennett. Larry
King, sometimes known as The Real Larry King since that is his real
name, grew up outside of New York City where he was inspired by the
radio stations and on-air personalities he heard as a child. Larry was
also interested in music, especially classical and jazz. He was first
trumpet in his high school band, played in his town’s concert band and
symphony orchestra, and won a prestigious student music award from Lincoln
Center in New York. He graduated from Ohio Wesleyan University, majring
in both Music and Speech/Communication and sang in the college’s glee
club that toured both in the United States and South America. It was
during his junior year that Larry became involved with the college radio
station. His professional broadcasting experience has been at radio
stations on Cape Cod and Boston. His favorite classical composer is
Beethoven and his favorite orchestra is the Boston Symphony. Larry’s
high school aged son David is first ‘cellist in his award-winning high
school string ensemble that performed at Carnegie Hall in New York City
in April, 2006. News
